If you're in a bikini on a Monday or has to be a good Monday, right?* And if you have a good read and a beer, it's even better. Picked up Lab Girl by Hope Jahren at the airport after hearing an interview she did on @thebittersweetlifepodcast and couldn't put the book down. It's an autobiographical roadmap about becoming a geobiologist and also a book about trees, effortlessly intertwined (you won't even realize you're learning about plants, promise). Founding a company is not unlike sailing a ship: 1) I've got this, everything is under control, I know where we are going ➡️ swipe 2) jk, I have no idea what I'm doing we're going to crash and burn ➡️ swipe 3) actually everything is fine, we're doing great. I've totally got this. ⛵
Sometimes that "entrepreneur cycle" happens over a week, sometimes it happens over 45 minutes. 📸

Fun fact: I actually learned to sail when I was in boarding school (#smus). When I was in the coach boat one day the throttle broke and we ended up stranded out in Cadboro Bay out of radio range. Character building, apparently 😐 #LLadventures

I like to send emails out Sunday night so they are fresh in the inbox Monday morning (plus some bosses/VCs out there check email Sunday night to ward off #SundayScaries). I try to avoid sending emails Friday afternoon because I'm not about that last minute, 11th hour business. I have enough FOMO in my life 😐. Happy Sunday! •

Sometimes you just need to stretch and do an inverted wall sit (side note - if you need coding-friendly yoga stretches check out Alex's page @theyogicoder, she is awesome ♥️🕉️) SWIPE ➡️ ✳️Currently reading Brotopia by Emily Chang of Bloomberg Business. Not 100% done but I can already recommend this book for one for anyone in tech (male or female), anyone trying to get into tech and any of my anthropologist friends out there. ✳️ I also recommend this for anyone trying to raise capital 💸 ✳️ The author wasn't as brutal as she could have been, but she just explains everything really well (this thisk is incredibly well researched). She spells out the sex parties, the PayPal Mafia, the infamous Google Memo, to name a few. Anyone read this? What did you think?
